Superstar Rajinikanth's Coolie written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and produced by Sun Pictures set the highest opening day record for a Tamil movie in Australia with a day 1 gross of A$ 5,35,350 (Rs. 3.04 Cr). Coolie has now become the first Tamil film to gross the fastest A$1M+ at the Australia, and New Zealand box-office, in a span of just 2 days. 

Coolie's Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea release is by Tolly Movies, and they announced after 2 days of Coolie's theatrical run that more shows across Australia and New Zealand have been added, due to an overwhelming demand.
