Rao Bahadur First Look: Satya Dev's Regal Avatar in Psychological Drama Unveiled

Rao Bahadur, a Telugu psychological drama starring Satya Dev in the title role, is set against the backdrop of a fading aristocracy. Written, directed, and edited by Venkatesh Maha, the film is presented by Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar’s GMB Entertainment, and produced by A+S Movies and SriChakraas Entertainments. Satya Dev takes on an elderly royal avatar, wearing intricate costumes with peacock feathers and ornamental vines, portraying a man whose mind begins to unravel amid the decline of aristocracy. The music is by Smaran Sai, with cinematography by Kartik Parmar and production design by Rohan Singh.

The first look poster drew strong attention, showing a regal yet intense Satya Dev, with a whimsical touch of children interacting on his attire, hinting at deeper metaphorical meaning. A special video unit titled "Not Even a Teaser" will premiere in theatres on August 15, 2025, followed by a digital release on August 18, 2025. The film’s theatrical release is set for Summer 2026, with plans for international distribution and subtitles.

Satya Dev revealed that the role demanded five hours of makeup daily to fully embody the gravitas of Rao Bahadur. This marks his second collaboration with Venkatesh Maha after their previous acclaimed work, making it one of the most anticipated films from GMB Entertainment, known for hits like Major.
