Superstar Rajinikanth's Coolie written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is a Tamil language action thriller that is all set to release in theaters on August 14, 2025. At the recently telecast Coolie Unleashed event, Rajinikanth revealed that it was Sun Pictures Kalanithi Maran's desire to take Coolie PAN India, which explains why the main cast in the film were brought in from different regional Indian film industries. 

Bollywood star Aamir Khan for instance could be considered the main appeal for the Hindi film audience to catch the Hindi dubbed version of the movie—Coolie: The Powerhouse in theaters. Despite Aamir's villain role only being a 15-minute cameo in a 169.47-minute movie, Sun Pictures we hear has gone all out to cast him as 'Dahaa'. 

Aamir Khan's remuneration in Coolie is a whopping Rs. 20 Cr., highest only next to the salaries of Rajinikanth (Rs. 200 Cr.), and Lokesh Kanagaraj (Rs. 50 Cr.). Coolie music director Anirudh Ravichander stands next to Aamir with a remuneration of Rs. 15 Cr, while Telugu star Nagarjuna (Rs. 10 Cr.) is the only other person to be paid in double digits for the movie. 

Reportedly, Sathyaraj takes home a whopping Rs. 5 Cr. for Coolie, whereas Kannada star Upendra, and actress Shruthi Haasan have each been paid Rs. 4 Cr. Pooja Hegde took home a pay cheque of Rs. 3 Cr. for her dance cameo in Coolie, whereas Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir has been paid Rs. 1 Cr. for Coolie.
