Coolie starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead is an upcoming Tamil action thriller that is all set to release in theaters worldwide on August 14, 2025. Bollywood star Aamir Khan is making his Tamil debut with Coolie, and his character has now been revealed to be named 'Dahaa' in the film. 

Coolie marks Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan's reunion 30 years after they shared screen space in the Hindi movie Aatank Hi Aatank (1995). Aamir Khan plays 'Daaha' (meaning blazing, glowing, or flame) to Rajinikanth's 'Deva' (meaning divine, heavenly, or God) in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directed film. 

Along with Aamir Khan's character poster reveal, Coolie producers Sun Pictures have also confirmed that the movie will be releasing in IMAX, D-BOX, and 4DX formats besides the standard format.

Coolie is a multi-starrer also boasts of star-studded line-up featuring Telugu star Nagarjuna, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir of Manjummel Boys fame, Kannada star Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruthi Haasan, and Pooja Hegde in a dance cameo. The Hindi dubbed version of Coolie is titled Coolie The Powerhouse. 

The technical crew of Coolie includes Girish Gangadharan for cinematography, Anirudh Ravichander for music, Philomin Raj for edits, and Anbariv for stunts. The film is Rajinikanth's 171st movie, and will be released overseas by Hamsini Entertainment, in North America (USA and Canada) by Prathyangira Cinemas, in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by Asian Multiplexes Private Limited, and in Karnataka by AV Media Consultancy. 

Coolie's overseas distribution raked in the highest price ever in Tamil Cinema which is reported to be around Rs. 68 Cr. Coolie's Telugu states distribution is buzzed to have been bagged for a massive Rs. 52 Cr. The post-theatrical Coolie OTT rights are with Amazon Prime Video, and the streaming platform signed the deal for a whopping Rs. 110 Cr. Coolie's budget is estimated at Rs. 350 Cr.
