3BHK starring Siddharth, R. Sarathkumar, Devayani among others is a coming-of-age family drama that is all set to release in theaters on July 4, 2025. The movie is based on a short story titled 3BHK Veedu by Aravindh Sachidanandam, and is written and directed by Sri Ganesh of 8 Thottakkal fame. 

8 Thottakal (2017) marked the debut of director Sri Ganesh at 27 years of age, and back then Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth was so impressed with the film that he had called the debutant to express his praise. "Rajinikanth called the storytelling and writing 'extraordinary'", Sri Ganesh had gushed 8 years ago. 

The director has since made Kuruthi Aattam (2022) with Atharvaa, and 3BHK like its title is the filmaker's third outing. During the promotions of 3BHK, Sri Ganesh had also expressed how excited he was for Rajinikanth's August 14 release, Coolie. 

"I have two reasons to be excited about Coolie for. One is Rajini Sir and the other is Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction. I have friends (working on Coolie) but I haven't asked for any details from them. I look forward to watching the movie fresh as an audience..I am as excited and enthusiastic about Coolie as we fans were to watch Rajinikanth in Padayappa (1999)", Sri Ganesh said in an interview a few days ago.
