Pushpa 2: The Rule, a sequel to the Sukumar directed PAN Indian hit Pushpa: The Rise (2021) is all set to release in theaters on December 5, 2024 (Thursday). The franchise stars Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna among others, with composer Devi Sri Prasad for music.
A few days ago, team Pushpa 2 was in Chennai for the Tamil Nadu leg of the film's promotions. Taking the stage at this 'Pushpa 2 Wildfire Event' , Devi Sri Prasad revealed that one of the producers of the movie, had complaints with the musician that he takes time to deliver the background score.
The first film Pushpa 2: The Rise had music and background score by Devi Sri Prasad, and the composer even won a National Award for the songs in that film. Devi Sri Prasad's work in Pushpa 2: The Rule i.e. songs from the second film, are equally well received. So it came as a shocker to many that the music composer, and the film's producer aren't exactly on the best of terms.
Devi Sri Prasad isn't handling the background score for the sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The makers had roped in Thaman S to score for Pushpa 2, but according to latest reports even Thaman's completed work has not been used in the movie. Currently, the score of Pushpa 2: The Rule is being worked on by Tamil music composer Sam CS.
