Pushpa 2 The Rule: Devi Sri Prasad's dig at producer turns heads

Pushpa 2: The Rule starring Allu Arjun, Rashmik Mandanna, Sreeleela among others is an upcoming Telugu language action drama, that is set to release in theaters on December 5, 2024. Sequel to the Sukumar directed Pushpa: The Rise (2021) that also starred Fahadh Faasil in an important role, Pushpa 2 is produced by Naveen Yerneni, Mohan Cherukuri and Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers.

Recently the entire team of Pushpa 2: The Rule held a promotional event in Chennai, where music composer Devi Sri Prasad's speech on stage turned heads for the digs it made at the film's producers especially Ravi Shankar. Devi Sri Prasad was delivering his speech in Tamil when a group of fans asked him to say something in Telugu. Addressing them, the music composer said,

"My dear brothers, whatever you're doing is right. If we want anything, we need to ask and get it. If you don't ask, they won't give,  whether it's the payment from producers or the credit on screen."

It was recently announced that while Devi Sri Prasad is handling the music of Pushpa 2, the background score will be done by Thaman S, Sam CS and Ajaneesh B Loknath. This was addressed by Devi Sri Prasad on stage when he said,

"Ravi sir, you've been blaming me saying that I didn't deliver the song or the background score on time. I know you love me. Where there is love, there are complaints as well. But, I think you have more complaints about me than love. Even now, I came to the venue 20-25 minutes ago. They asked me to wait to make an entry for the camera. I am shy. I am shameless only when I'm on stage. Off-stage, I'm the shyest person you can meet. I could hear the song Kissik being played, so I came running. As soon as I arrived, you said, 'Wrong timing, sir. You're late'. What can I do? If I had to address these separately, there's no kick. I am always open."
