Tamil movie Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth in the lead released in theaters on October 10, 2024. The Lyca Productions backed cop action drama is having a good run at the box-office. Two of the overseas locations where Vettaiyan, and its dubbed Hindi, Telugu, Kannada versions Vettaiyan: The Hunter are doing well are Australia, and New Zealand.
Vettaiyan which also stars Amitabh Bachchan in an important role, was expected to be given tough competition by the Bollywood release Jigra, which is a joint production venture of Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt. Instead, running neck and neck with Vettaiyan's good box-office run in Australia, and New Zealand, is a Punjabi movie titled Mittran Da Challeya Truck Ni.
