Suriya, Karthi get fan support in Pawan Kalyan Laddu controversy!

After creating a huge ruckus over Tamil actor Karthi's statement calling 'Laddu' a 'sensitive issue', Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan took to X late Wednesday to send out this following post:

 

"Dear @Karthi_Offl garu, I sincerely appreciate your kind gesture and swift response, as well as the respect you've shown towards our shared traditions. Matters concerning our sacred institutions, like Tirupati and its revered laddus, carry deep emotional weight for millions of devotees, and it’s essential for all of us to handle such topics with care. That said, I wanted to bring this to your notice with no intentions behind it, and I understand the situation was unintentional. Our responsibility as public figures is to foster unity and respect, especially regarding what we cherish most—our culture and spiritual values. Let's always strive to uplift these values while continuing to inspire through cinema. I would also like to express my admiration for you as a remarkable actor whose dedication and talent have consistently enriched our cinema. Wishing you, @Suriya_offl garu, #Jyotika garu, and the entire team at @2D_ENTPVTLTD a successful release of #Meiyazhagan / #SathyamSundaram. May it resonate with audience and bring joy to many"

 

To the unversed, Karthi had apologized taking to the X platform earlier in the day, after actor and Jana Sena Party head Pawan Kalyan took issue with the fact that Karthi while reacting to a meme from his 13 year old movie, refused to comment on the laddus in it. Karthi's avoidance of the meme came in lieu of the Tirupathi Thirumala Laddu controversy, and in consideration of the Hindu religious sentiments attached to it.

 

 

Pawan Kalyan still went ahead and took issue with Karthi, making the topic a whole controversy. However people who kept up with the updates agreed that Pawan Kalyan's reaction was unnecessarily over-the-top, and support poured in for Karthi over his apology tweet. 

 

The general consensus was that actor Karthi need not have issued an apology, for he did no wrong. Karthi's statement was made during the Telugu leg of promotions of his September 27 release Meiyazhagan (titled Sathyam Sundaram in Telugu). Karthi's star actor brother and Meiyazhagan's producer Suriya responded to Pawan Kalyan's tweet regarding the topic, as did Karthi himself.

 

 

Once again fans from both the Tamil and Telugu states, voiced out the bizzare nature of Pawan Kalyan's outburst, and how the JSP Chief has done everything but take action in finding the culprits behind the contamination of the Tirupathi laddus.
