Popular caper action film series Dhoom, produced by Yash Raj Films, is gearing up for a fourth installment titled Dhoom 4. YRF head Aditya Chopra is said to be actively working alongside writer, director Ayan Mukerji, and screenplay writers Vijay Krishna Acharya and Sridhar Raghavan, in developing a script for Dhoom 4. 

At this time, it has been revealed that Tamil star actor Suriya has been approached for a role in Dhoom 4. A quote in Deccan Herald from a source-in-the-know reads, “Makers did approach the star for a role and the negotiations are ongoing but remain in the early stages. It's too soon to confirm anything as Suriya sir is currently tied up with other commitments and fans will hear an official announcement when any progress happens.”

Dhoom series of film revolves around police officer Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan), and his sidekick Uday Akbar Fateh Khan (Uday Chopra), who set out on missions to capture professional thieves. The first movie Dhoom (2004) had John Abraham playing the anti-hero, while Dhoom 2 (2006) and Dhoom 3 (2013) had Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan play the criminal masterminds respectively.  

The Dhoom franchise is one of the biggest money-spinners of Bollywood, and its popularity hasn't waned even after 20 years.
