Coolie starring Rajinikanth in the lead is an upcoming action thriller, written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and produced by Sun Pictures. Coolie's cast includes names like Sathyaraj, Upendra, Shruthi Haasan, Mahendran but an official announcement on this list still awaited. 

Sun Pictures has now confirmed Manjummel Boys actor Soubin Shahir to be part of Coolie's cast, by unveiling a dope character poster. Coolie is currently being filmed in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The movie has so far shot in places like Hyderabad, Telengana and Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Coolie is scheduled to release in 2025 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages. The movie is expected to hit theater screens in standard and IMAX formats. The post-theatrical OTT rights of Coolie is reportedly with Amazon Prime Video, while its satellite rights are with Sun TV.  

The technical crew of Coolie includes Anirudh Ravichander for music, Girish Gangadharan for cinematography, and Philomin Raj for the edits. Coolie is touted to be set against the backdrop of gold smuggling.
