Actress Disha Patani celebrates her 32nd birthday today, and marking the same the makers of her upcoming mega-budget movie Kalki 2898 AD unveiled a new character poster. Disha Patani plays Roxie in the Nag Ashwin directed sci-fi film, which infuses the Mahabharata - Kalki Yuga lore (link in the tweet below), and the new poster features herself as a spunky warrior in the dystopian Kaashi, where mankind fights for digital points to secure a place in the complex above.

A Vyjayanthi Movies production, Kalki 2898 AD releases in theaters on June 27, 2024 [Thursday]. The movie has Prabhas playing the lead bounty hunter character named Bhairava, who is out to capture a pregnant target named SUM-80 (a play on Sumathi, birth mother of Kalki according to Hindu mythology).

How Bhairava and his trusted AI vehicle named Bujji (voiced by Keerthy Suresh), take on Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) over Deepika Padukone (SUM-80), is what forms the rest of the story. Kalki 2898 AD also stars Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, Saswata Chatterjee as Commander Manas (the villains in this story), Pasupathy as Veeran, Anna Ben as Kyra among others. The movie has Santhosh Narayanan for music.
