A cricket based sports drama starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead, Lal Salaam also starring Rajinikanth in a special yet significant appearance is gearing up for a theatrical release on February 9, 2023. The movie had its official trailer release last night and Rajinikanth is a ball of fire with his politically loaded dialogues in the trailer cut. 

Rajinikanth's character Moideen Bhai comes across as a Mumbai-based gangster who calls for religious harmony in rural Tamil Nadu. His character seems to cross paths with two young budding cricketers, who have more than just sports between them. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, who has returned to filmmaking after 3 (2012), Vai Raja Vai (2015) and Cinema Veeran (2017 documentary), Lal Salaam has story, dialogues and cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy, screenplay by Aishwarya Rajinikanth.

Backed by Lyca Productions, Lal Salaam also stars Senthil, Jeevitha, Thambi Ramaiah, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Vivek Prasanna, Thangadurai, Livingston, Nirosha, Dhanya Balakrishna, Vignesh, Akash Sahani, Poster Nandakumar, Adithya Menon, Pondy Ravi and former cricketer Kapil Dev in cameo appearance. 

Lal  Salaam's technical crew also includes AR Rahman for music, B. Pravin Baaskar for edits,  Ramu Thangaraj for art, Dinesh for choreography, Anl Arasu, Kickass Kaali, Stunt Vicky for stunts, Kabilan for lyrics, Sathya NJ for costume design, Lorven studios for VFX and Kabilan for publicity design. Sony Music holds the audio rights to Lal Salaam, and Sun TV the broadcast rights.
