Who is the winner of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 7 - A Revisit & Summary
The seventh season of popular reality TV show Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by Kamal Haasan is coming a close with a grand finale this weekend. As reality television controversies go, Bigg Boss Tamil Season 7 too had its fair share of ups and downs, invoking strong reactions from the public, especially one of criticism towards host Kamal Haasan.
In a first for the Tamil version, Bigg Boss Tamil 7 ran with the concept of two houses namely the main luxury house, which was fantasy land themed and a small house, where six housemates were chosen each week to liven in and take care of everyday jobs like cooking, cleaning, et all. Anyone who won the Captain task got to choose the six housemates to be sent to small boss house, and the six contestants then had to clear tasks to re-enter the main Bigg Boss house.
After a roster of 23 candidates in 104 days, Maya S Krishnan, Manichandra, Vishnu, Dinesh Gopalsamy and VJ Archana have made it to the top 5 final contestants. While the former three have been Bigg Boss Tamil 7 housemates from day 1, the latter two are wildcard entrants, having been part of the house since day 28. The public favourite for Bigg Boss Tamil 7 title winner is said to be VJ Archana, which is another first for the show considering how wildcard entrants have historically never been title winners. Maya Krishnan, is another strong contender for the winning title considering the game she has played throughout this season.

A look back on how Bigg Boss Tamil Season 7 has gone through its 104 days of journey:
Day 1 - Day 25 - Strong Contestant Pradeep Antony
The first 25 days of Bigg Boss Tamil 7 had ejected contestant Pradeep Antony emerge as one of the strongest housemates. It was also a time when contestant Maya's display of smarts was earning her 'friends' in the Bigg Boss house.
I am not Pradeep fan. Hate his filthy speech but am also against toxic planned red card eviction. And this video is pure magic. He should have stood his ground without giving the 1st place to Maya. I wish he talked sensibly and stayed throughout. Must have been a better season.

Contestant Vijay who was evicted on day 56, went on to become the first captain of the house. Contestant Nixen, evicted on day 91, had his big fight with Pradeep Antony, who had slowly bur surely started to irk housemates with 'behavioral complaints' at this time. Contestant Poornima, who walked out of the show on day 96 was praised for her captaincy skills during this period.
Day 25 - Day 50 - The Big Red Card Controversy, VJ Archana's Wildcard Entry
It is no secret that Bigg Boss Tamil 7 host Kamal Haasan, who acts as a mediator of sorts on the show's weekend episodes, fell out of favour with the show's ardent audience during this time. The 'Ulganayagan' was blamed for being biased towards contestant Maya, with whom he has shared screen space in 2022 hit actioner Vikram albeit for for a less than a minute. Defying the host became such a trend that it, the more any of the housemates did it , the more public voted for them.

Five new wildcard contestants namely Dinesh Gopalsamy, Annabharathi, VJ Archana, Gana Bala and RJ Bravo entered that Bigg Boss Tamil 7 house on day 28, and were sent by the housemates to live in the small house. The most debated topic around Bigg Boss Tamil 7 aka the red card eviction of Pradeep Antony, happened during this time.

'Urimai Kural' which translates to 'Voice for Rights' became a weapon for the housemates to use and abuse during this time. VJ Archana's rise from a weak play to winner potential also happened during this era. Highlights of this time period were the 'Court room' task, where Maya and friends were taken to task for their potential double standards on gender views, the 'Unnai Pol Oruvan' task where VJ Archana stood out with her Eswari performance, and the 'Plasma TV - Explain your remark' which ended up being a plethora of content for both the housemates - especially Nixen, Vinusha, and Bigg Boss 7 audience.
Kamal Haasan's appeal to not to mock medical issues, contestant Vichitra being the only contestant to try and stop the ganging up against VJ Archana, and contestant 'Aishu' Aishwarya's eviction were other highlights of this time period.
Day 51 - Day 75: Divided Groups & Favours
The next 25 days saw a clear division of groups with contestants Maya, Poornima, Nixen, Vickram, Akshaya, Jovika on one side, and contestants Archana, Vichithra, Dinesh, Manichandra, Vishnu, Raveena on the other. With every task ending with a debate and turning into heated arguments, Kamal Haasan helped the housemates course correct by pointing out that they were missing out on the entertainment factor.

Evicted contestants and friends of Maya - Vijay Varma and Ananya S Rao re-entered the Bigg Boss house as wildcards on day 56. Contestant Vickram shined during this period with his Vadivelu slang during the Dance Maranthon task and winning the jackpot task. Nixen and Archana's big fight was also a highlight during these days.
Days leading up the Finale
The segment of the Bigg Boss Tamil show where family members of contestants surprise them during freeze task was one of the better highlights of Season 7. The families provided more no less of an entertainment than the housemates, and everyone had a chance to look back at their journey as well.
Maya and walked-out contestant Poorinma's bond of friendship won one too many hearts, Vichithra's motherly side was adored by the families in the viewers. VJ Archana being a strong contender for the winning title was hinted to the housemates for the first time by the visitors.

Contestant Vishnu won the first ticket to finale, and became a full time entertainer with his trademark "yenda dei". Contestants Cool Suresh, Nixen, Raveena, Vichitra were evicted during this time making Archana, Dinesh, Manichandra, Maya and Vishnu as the top 5 finalists.
