The teaser of Pa. Ranjith directed Thangalaan starring actor Vikram in the lead dropped at 11: 10 AM today, and the video showcases the Vikram's lead character in the rawest possible form. The lead star in character as as intimidating as they come, even though he plays the good guy.  

Vikram's character is tagged the 'son of gold', very much in theme of the movie's plot which revolves around the enslavement of Tamil origin people in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) of Karnataka, during pre-Independence India. 

A Studio Green production, Thangalaan is co-produced by Pa. Ranjith's Neelam Productions and is scheduled to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages. The movie is a period drama based on the true life events, and also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathi, Daniel Caltagirone, Harikrishnan Anbudurai among others.

The technical crew of this film includes GV Prakash for music, Tamil Praba as co-screenplay writer, A Kishor Kumar for cinematography and Selva RK for edits.
