KH 234 (tentative title) is an upcoming Kamal Haasan starrer that marks his reunion with ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam after the epic crime drama Nayakan (1987). The movie was announced as a joint production venture of Kamal Haasan's home banner Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) and Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies in November, 2022.

KH 234 was also officially announced to have AR Rahman for music and a theatrical release plan in 2024. Ever since, it has been revealed that the film is being planned on a grand scale with actors Trisha, Jayam Ravi and Dulquer Salmaan in it. More recently a promo video shooting with all actors in it was said to be in plans; it remains unclear when this video will be out. 

Now, KH234 actor, producer Kamal Haasan has revealed that the beard he is growing is for the movie. Sharing a stage with director Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan responded to an update request on the film by stating,

"We (Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan) without any restlessness are working just like we used to work during Nayakan. Our focus has only been to do a good film, to walk with our heads high amidst you all. All our preparations are going on towards this goal. Even this (points to face) beard is that. Whatever needs to be grown is being manured by us right now. Thank you. This is the update"

[Update: November 6, 2023] A day ahead of Kamal Haasan's 69th birthday, Thug Life was officially announced as the title of KH 234, Actors Trisha, Jayam Ravi and Dulquer Salmaan were also confirmed to be part of Thug Life's cast.
