Jailer trio - lead star Rajinikanth, music composer Anirudh and production house Sun Pictures are reuniting once again on a movie, and the project tentatively titled Thalaivar 171 was officially announced today. As buzzed for a while now, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is helming Thalaivar 171, and National award winning stunt duo Anbariv will be handling the action.
Thalaivar 171 has been announced post a chaotic Sunday that had fan-created rumours suggesting that, Lokesh Kanagaraj is considering dropping out of Thalaivar 171. Fans of Rajinikanth were in for a rude shock this weekend, when it was floated out of nowhere that the Superstar had taken an idea out of a narration session with Lokesh, and placed it in Jailer which was directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
Very low from this guys...I don't know what is the agenda behind this or who behind this.... spreading the fake news !

This bizzare accusation was traced to a doctored image, and a handle named @MadrasDiariesMD had to come out and issue a clarification to avoid a defamation case. This online incident got so chaotic that pressure was even directed towards the celebrities involved to issue a clarification on the same.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj instead seems to have cleared the air with his next project announcement.
Excited to be joining hands with Thalaivar @rajinikanth Sir for #Thalaivar171 with @sunpictures
