Actor Vijay is currently awaiting the release of Leo on October 19, 2023 marking the Dussehra holiday, and his next after Leo is Thalapathy 68 (tentative title) directed by Venkat Prabhu. Thalapathy 68: A Venkat Prabhu Puzzle was officially announced on May 21, 2023, and the film is a production venture of AGS Entertainment. Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing for this project. 

Since its announcement, actors Prabhu Deva, Jai, Madhavan, Premgi Amaren, Jyotika and Priyanka Mohan have been linked to Thalapathy 68 but no official confirmation has been made in regards to the casting. 

Latest we hear, Thalapathy 68 will have Vijay playing dual roles of father and son just like in the actor's last collaboration with AGS Entertainment - Bigil (2019). While Bigil had father and son Vijay on the same side, Thalapathy 68 is expected to showcase a face-off between the double Vijays. 

Added to this, it is being said that one of these characters will be that of a RAW agent. Reports are rife that team Thalapathy 68 is currently working with a Los Angeles firm to finalize the look for this RAW agent character on Vijay. The look they say is being designed using 3D VFX scan technology in LA.
