Debut director BVP Rao aka Papa Rao Biyyala is a former IAS officer turned Telengana government policy advisor turned Sports Authority of India (SAI) member turned filmmaker. His upcoming film Music School is a multilingual releasing in Hindi, Telugu (dubbed) and Tamil (dubbed) on May 12, 2023. Music School stars Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi and Shriya Saran in lead roles, and also has famous playback singer Shaan making his acting debut.

Music School unlike the theme of movies in India, focusses on 'Theater and Drama' in schools as an important art form subject for kids. Veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja has taken care of music in this movie, providing a total of 6 songs. Additionally, the makers have recreated three iconic numbers from The Sound of Music, namely Do-re-mi, Sixteen Going on Seventeen and So Long, Farewell. The Sound of Music is a 1959 stage musical composed by Richard Rodgers and with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. It was adapted into a popular film in 1965, starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.

Prakash Raj, Leela Samson among others play important roles in the movie, which highlights the pressure applied by school systems and parents on children to continue with endless hours of studies, leaving no time for art and leisure activities for the students. Adam Murray, who worked in The King's Man (2021), Cruella (2021) and Rocketman (2019) has choreographed for the film alongside Chinni Prakash, and Raju Sundaram.
