Although the film has a social message and raises awareness among its viewers, it lacks the motivational or impacting effect of its talking point. However, Musical School still manages to tug at your heartstrings with its simplicity.(more)

Much-Needed Message But
The film tries hard to make a case -- like 3 Idiots and Taare Zameen Par before -- to let children follow their artistic passions and not try to fit them into pre-set moulds, to which people might nod their heads in agreement before packing their children off to coaching class.(more)

we have seen many films like Taare Zameen Par, Udaan and Pasanga 2 that showcased varied concerns of children, and their relationship with parents and society.
