If the latest buzz is anything to go by then actor Vijay Sethupathi has been approached to play an important role in Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran, which is a Madonne Ashwin directorial. Madonne Ashwin made his debut with the 2021 movie Mandela, sweeping a National Film Award for his dialogues and an 'Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director' too.
Vijay Sethupathi who was last seen in Maamanithan is currently gearing up for his Malayalam debut as lead with 19 (1) (a), which will release on Disney Plus Hotstar OTT platform on July 29, 2022. The actor also has a slew of other films in his pipeline like Merry Christmas (opposite Katrina Kaif), Viduthalai (with Vetrimaaran), Mumbaikar (A Hindi film directed by Santhoh Sivan) and a silent film titled Gandhi Talks.
Maaveeran titled Mahaveerudu in Telugu, is backed by Tollywood production house Shanthi Talkies. Previously actor Goundamani was buzzed to be playing Sivakarthikeyan's uncle in the movie, but official announcements on the same await.
