We had previously reported that actor Prakash Raj will be reuniting with actor Vijay after 13 years for Thalapathy 66 (tentative title). Sri Venkateswara Creations, producers of the film have now officially confirmed the same. Additionally they have also announced that actor Prabhu who has shared screen space with Vijay in Puli (2015) and appeared in a cameo in Theri (2016), is also part of Thalapathy 66.

Actors Sarathkumar, Shaam, Yogi Babu are already revealed as part of the supporting cast of Thalapathy 66. Along with Prabhu and Prakash Raj, actress Jayasudha who last appeared as Prakash Raj's wife in Mani Ratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam has now been revealed as an addition to the team. Thalapathy 66 will be releasing in theaters for Pongal, 2023 i.e. January, 2023. 

Written by Vamshi Paidipally, Hari and Ashishor Solomon and directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Thalapathy 66 has Rashmika Mandanna playing female lead and SS Thaman for music. The film is currently being shot at Hyderabad. The technical crew of this film also includes Karthik Palani for cinematography and KL Praveen for edits.
