Beast: Yuvan uses AD Kolima! People think shots were fired at Anirudh!

PUBLISHED DATE | 16/Apr/2022

Incorporating licensed beats in one's work is not uncommon in the music industry but Tamil film composer Anirudh Ravichander has often been at the receiving brunt of it. The only time Anirudh addressed this was in 2018 when he took to Twitter to write, "..for the lack of awareness, I work with a lot of music producers worldwide .." and proceeded to tag the company he licensed a popular beat from, for Kalyaana Vayasu song.

Kalyaana Vasayu was part of a Nelson directorial named Kolamaavu Kokila and incidentally it took another Nelson directorial Beast, for the "plagiarism" accusations against Anirudh to get revived. Beast Mode, the third single from the movie was teased in the movie's trailer and very quickly people dug out that it resembled a song named AD Kolima by Demeter, ISHNLV.

Setting aside the obvious, Beast Mode was trolled for being "a copy".  This topic has now taken a new turn with composer Yuvan Shankar Raja added to the mix. Recently Yuvan posted a reel on Instagram using AD Kolima as the audio. The comments section under this post believes that this is a shot at Anirudh and Beast Mode, given the timing [Beast released in theaters on April 13, 2022] of the song's usage.
