While promoting his upcoming directorial Beast, which releases in theaters on April 13, 2022 Nelson Dilipkumar has described the movie as 'the Indian James Bond'. Speaking to the media, director Nelson has said, "A lot of people told me after watching the movie's trailer that it gave a Hollywood feel. It's true. You can call Beast an Indian James Bond movie. Vijay's action and style will be upto that level."
Confirming that the story of Beast mostly takes place in a shopping mall within a particular time frame, Nelson also added that the movie will be 60% action and 40% comedy. Vijay plays Veera Raghavan, an operative of the Indian Reaserch and Analysis Wing (RAW) in the film and his days as a spy comes in handy when a busy mall is taken hostage by a group of international terrorists.
Beast is produced by Sun Pictures and also stars Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Shine Tom Chacko and a host of comedians among others. The U/A certified movie has Anirudh for music and comes with a runtime of 2 hours 35 minutes 38 seconds.
