"Among the impressions that a movie makes, leave the bad ones behind in the theater gallery and take only the good ones home" - read a line from actor Ajith's personal message to his fans, which he had issued back in 2010 during the screening of his movie Asal. This line though issued in interest of no smoking and drinking, stands true for everything that a film 'tempts its viewers into trying'.

Sadly to this day, several youth and minors are often caught indulging in illegal, immoral or life threatening activities, based on a film depiction they witness. In one such case, two first time offenders - a 23 year old youth and a 17 year old minor, were recently caught for chain bike thefts in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

In the probe post their arrest, the men are said to have stated that they were "inspired" into bike lifting after watching Valimai, a movie that showcased a gang of rogue bikers. “Inspired by the movie, they started to steal parked motorcycles and sold them for as low as 5,000”, said the inspector handling the case to the media.

Both men were booked under Section 379 of the IPC after the minor's boy's Whatsapp message to a prospective customer set the police off.  The minor boy has now obtained bail from the juvenile justice board while the 23 year old remains locked up at the Palladam sub-jail at Tirupur.
