Annaatthe starring Rajinikanth in the lead is all set to hit theater screens on November 4, 2021 and we had previously reported that the plot of the movie revolves around the brother-sister bond between Rajinikanth and Keerthy Suresh. Rajinikanth raises Keerthy Suresh since birth and when misfortune falls on her after she gets married, Rajini's character Kaalaiyan goes to all extremes to protect her.

The same was teased in the trailer of the movie and now director Siva has revealed in an interview that the story of Annaatthe revolves around Keerthy Suresh. He was quoted by Vikatan magazine as stating, "The crux of Annaatthe is its story..Everything takes place surrounding Keerthy Suresh."

Meena and Khushbu play Rajini's cousins in the movie, who once intended on marrying him, but his romantic interest is Nayanthara. Talking about how this actress-casting coup came about Siva in the same interview said,

"This is indeed a big magic..There was once a time when Rajinikanth moves meant either Khushbu or Meena were heroines..Keerthy Suresh has utmost respect for Rajini Sir..Nayanthara and I have been friends since the days I worked in Telugu movies. She herself came forward to do Annaatthe and came on board without even hearing the story. She has that much trust in me (as a filmmaker)."
