S.S. Rajamouli directed RRR recently created a lot of buzz and unrest in the Telugu cine circle, after it was suggested that the movie is coming out in theaters for Sankranti in January, 2022. For starters two other biggies - Prabhas's Radhe Shyam and Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata were already scheduled to release for Makar Sankranti.

Added to this team Radhe Shyam refused to move their January 14, 2022 release date; They cited that they had planned a healthy gap with RRR months in advance after confirming that RRR was coming out in October for Dussehra. So they decided not to adjust to another postponement in RRR release date.

However Sarkaru Vaari Paata might just do the same. Word is that Mahesh Babu is willing to move his January 13, 2021 release date for SS Rajamouli, though at this point RRR makers have only just floated that idea of a Sankranti release with distributors and theater owners. An official announcement regarding RRR release date has not been made.
