Breaking News - Irandam Ulagam - Selva & Harris part ways for BGM?

The latest breaking news buzzing in the industry is that Harris Jayaraj most likely will not be doing the BGM for Selvaraghavan's Irandam Ulagam. It has come as a shock after Irandam Ulagam's songs have been well-received even by the toughest critics of Harris Jayaraj. There are a number of reasons quoted for the break-up between Selva and Harris.

Reason for the break-up

Harris Jayaraj doesn't have a single movie release so far in 2013. Harris Jayaraj had not done background score for any movie for almost a year ever since the release of Thuppaki last year. Due to the long delays faced by Irandam Ulagam, the BGM effort is now piling up on other movies that are getting ready to release in Harris' pipeline, including Endrendrum Punnagai", "Yaan", "Idhu Kadhirvelanin Kadhal".

Harris had requested Selva to push the re-recording for Irandam Ulagam until after Pongal of next year (2014) so he can fulfill the promised date commitments for other movies. Selvaraghavan was shocked to hear Harris' decision. After rounds of futile talks, Selva and Harris are reported to have parted ways.

Since the budget of Irandam Ulagam has already sky-rocketed, it is risky to wait any longer for Harris to become available. It is not clear who will fill the shoes of Harris Jayaraj as music forms the integral part of the movie. Many insiders believe Selvaraghavan may approach one of the upcoming successful music directors to provide the background score.
