Pulamaipithan, the poet who accentuated many Tamil stars passes away!

Legendary poet Pulamipithan, whose songs have accentuated the stardom of several Tamil film actors like MGR, Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth among others has passed away at 88. He is survived by his wife. 

Pulaimaipithan was born Ramaswamy in Pallapalayam in Coimbatore and was instrumental in the film and political career of former Tamil Nadu Chief minister MG Ramachandran.

Among his plethora of memorable songs are Aayiram Nilave Vaa from Adimai Penn (1969), Then Pandi Seemaiyile from Nayagan (1987) and Thaimai from Theri (2016). In the last two decades, he has worked on movies like Suriya's Nanda, Vikram's Kasi, Jayam Ravi's debut Jayam and two of Vadivelu's movies Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi and Tenaliraman.
