Pa. Ranjith directed period sports drama Sarpatta is streaming on Amazon Prime Video as a direct OTT release, and the movie is being showered with critical acclaim from all over. Starring Arya in the lead, Sarpatta Parambarai follows the story of two boxing clans and how one man redeems himself and his clan from years of defeat. 

As praises for the movie were showered all over social media, it was also highlighted that Sarpatta was originally planned with Suriya and the actor even trained in boxing for a while for his role. Later when his casting didn't materialize, the opportunity went to Karthi who was keen on working on a Pa. Ranjith film. For reasons unknown, that didn't happen either.

The movie has now finally released with Arya in the lead, and is gaining accolades for the actor for his strong performance as Kabilan.
