With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation, international travel restrictions to and from India are constantly changing. At this time, Tamil star actor Rajinikanth has gotten special permission from the central government to travel on a private plane to the US for a health check up.

Reportedly, Rajini will be travelling on a special flight that has a capacity to carry 14 people. He will be going along with a few of his family members who are vaccinated.

It was in December last year that Rajinikanth suffered a health scare during the shooting of Annaatthe, where the crew tested positive for COVID-19. Rajinikanth did not test positive but as a organ transplant recipient, had to exercise extreme precaution to keep himself safe.
