Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions in association with Golden Ratio Films and Little Red Car Films is producing an upcoming movie titled Writer, which has Samuthirkani in the lead. The actor plays a cop in the movie and recently new stills featuring him were unveiled.

Directed by Franklin Jacob, Writer is said to be a movie about a he life of a police station writer. During the film's first look release, Pa. Ranjith said that 'the writer will rewrite the finished pages of humble people, who fall prey to those who are power-hungry.'
