The dispute between Indian 2 director Shankar and the movie's banner Lyca productions came for hearing in court and Shankar has said that he is available to work from July to October of this year. The director has also informed the court that since comedian Vivek passed away unexpectedly, he will have to re-shoot the actor's portions in the film as they were incomplete.

Indian 2 was Vivek's dream debut with Kamal Haasan and the actor was playing a police officer in the movie. The court has adjourned the next hearing of Indian 2 case to April 28, 2021. They have also advised both Lyca and Shankar to sort out their issues personally if they were going for an amicable solution.

Indian 2 is a Rs. 236 Cr. mega-budgeted project which is currently stuck in production. Early this month, Lyca moved Madras High court against Shankar after the director committed to a Telugu and Hindi project before completing Indian 2
