Neyyattinkara Gopante Aaraattu or Aaraattu starring Mohanlal in the lead is gearing up for a release this year and latest update on that front is that August 12, 2021 is the release date. While an official confirmation is yet to be made, trade sources in Kerala are excited about the prospect of a Mohanlal movie opening in theaters during the Independence day weekend. 

Aarattu directed by B. Unnikrishnan has Shraddha Srinath playing female lead. It is also said that A.R. Rahman whose last Malayalam movie was Mohanlal's Yodha, will be seen in a small cameo as himself in the movie.
