Marking the occassion of Shruthi Haasan's birthday today, the makers of Saalar announced that the actress has joined the film its female lead. Shruthi will be sharing screen space with Prabhas in the movie, which is touted to to be a high-voltage action film.

KGF fame Kannada director Prashanth Neel is helming Prabhas in Saalar, and it is produced by KGF fame banner Hombale Films.  Saalar will be a pan-Indian film and is expected to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
