Eeswaran First Look, Motion Poster faces ban for not obtaining NOC!

PUBLISHED DATE | 19/Nov/2020

The first look and motion poster of Simbu's upcoming film Eeswaran had garnered the attention of the forest department and the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), after an Indian Cobra featured on the said poster and video of the film.

While the team seems to have suggested that they did not use an actual snake, which is considered a performance animal, turns out they also did not obtain the required no-objection certificate (NOC) required for using computer graphics/animation/dummy of performance animals.

A letter from the AWBI to Eeswaran's producers Madhav Media is currently circulating on the internet, which calls for a ban on the circulation of the first look poster and motion poster video (addressed as trailer in the letter) for not obtaining the pre-shoot NOC. They have also asked the makers to respond with their reason within 7 days of their letter which is dated November 16, 2020.

AWBI rules require that makers send two CDs, containing the making of CGI animal performance that they intend to include in their movie, pre-shoot. Details such as specific scenes where the CGI would be included and the company producing the CGI need to be also presented on an affidavit of Rs. 20 stamp paper.
