Since the weekend, chances of Master makers rethinking their stance on direct OTT release has been the talk of the town. The buzz started after Suriya announced Soorarai Pottru's direct OTT premiere and it is being said that among the usual competitors like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, Jio Cinemas has shown a keen interest in the Vijay starrer.

Jio Cinema have been wanting to break ground in exclusive OTT content and Master might be their golden ticket to achieve it down South. Word is that the Reliance company's OTT platform is currently in negotiation with Master makers on pulling them on-board, though it remains to be seen if anything will come out of it, given the producers' strong will of having only a theatrical release for the movie until now. 

It is also worth mentioning here that even among A-list movies, Vijay's Master holds a higher bankability and only time can tell if a streaming service can provide a price equivalent to theater exhibitors.
