The director had taken to the social media app last night to ask his fans and followers to name one cricketer who reminded them of being a 'perfect cricketer' and had 'retired without demanding attention'.

Whether or not he intended to tickle people's funny bones with the question is debatable but the sense of humour among the Tamil twitterati jumped right out and they responded with names of fictional cricketers like Nelson (Sivakarthikeyan in Kanaa), Karthik (Siva from Chennai 28) and Ashok (Madhavan from Priyamana Thozhi).
