Not too long ago there was a buzz that a possible collaboration was brewing between actor Suriya and director Vetrimaaran and that the film will be an adaptation of a Tamil book titled 'Ajnabi' penned by Meeran Mitheen. While the book is indeed taking celluloid form with Vetrimaaran at the helm, the only difference is the hero who will be Soori. 

The Soori-Vetrimaaran team-up was already a thing in progress and while many expected this said project to be based on late Na. Muthukumar's work, latest updates say otherwise. It is worth mentioning here that 'Ajnabi' is about the emotional journey of a Muslim youngster who despite being at the age to study, has to leave his family in search of work.

The book is also said to showcase how simple people live and fight in the Islamic society, that is often portrayed as being 'religious extremists'.
