Director Caarthick Raju is directing a mythological bilingual next which stars actress Regina Cassandra as the lead and has been titled Soorpanagai. The first look poster for the same was unveiled today and Cassandra could be seen as the distressed sister of Ravanan, from Valmiki's epic Ramayanam.

Soorpanagai is produced by Raj Shekar Varma with music by Sam C.S. and PK Varma for cinematography. According to the Ramayana, Soorpanagai was humiliated that the exiled brothers Ram and Lakshmanan thwarted her advances, and envious, Soorpanagai attacked Sita but Lakshmanan cut off her nose and sent her back to Lanka.
