Word Famous Lover: Distributors demand compensation for their financial loss

Vijay Devarakonda's latest outing 'World Famous Lover' which hit the screens worldwide on February 14 failed to create a mark at the Box Office. The film which opened to most negative reviews couldn't rake in the moolah at the ticket windows. The film fell flat on Day 4 and was a complete washout.

The theatrical rights for the Telugu states AP / TG were sold for Rs. 23 cr and the film has earned a share of Rs. 8.15 cr. The distributors who have incurred loss of Rs. 14+ cr have demanded compensation from the makers and have asked a refund of about 20% from NRA (Non-refundable Advance).

According to reports, the producers are ready to compensate the distributors if Vijay Devarakonda is willing to return a part of his remuneration and share their burden for the losses incurred. The actor had reportedly received Rs. 10 cr as salary for this romantic drama.

The anthology film also features Raashi Khanna, Aishwarya Rajesh, Catherine Tressa and Izabelle Leite in the lead roles. The movie directed by Kranthi Madhav was bankrolled by K. A. Vallabha and K. S. Rama Rao under Creative Commercials banner.
