Jaanu starring Sharwanand and Samantha in the lead roles is the Telugu remake of Tamil film '96'. '96' featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha in the lead roles became a super hit. The film is directed by C Premkumar who helmed the original version as well. The songs were a big hit in the Tamil version. Govind Vasantha who scored the music for the original version has scored music for the remake version as well.

The makers of released the full video of 'The Life of Ram' song from the film which features the Sharwanand. The song has lyrics by Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry and sung by Pradeep Kumar.
