As the year comes to an end, we have a round up of films which raked in big moolah at the box office in 2019. From 100 cr to 300 cr club, we have listed the Top 15 films which made a mark at the ticket windows this year.
War - Rs. 318 cr
Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff starrer action drama directed by Siddharth Anand has landed the top spot for the highest grossing Bollywood movies this year by raking in Rs. 318 cr. This is the only film this year to have made it into the prestigious Rs. 300 cr club and also marks the first film for both Hrithik and Tiger to make an entry into this club.
Kabir Singh - Rs 278.24 cr
Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh directed by Sandeep Vanga is the Hindi remake of the blockbuster Telugu film Arjun Reddy. While Shahid's multi-starrer period drama Padmavaat is part of Rs. 300 cr club, Kabir Singh marks biggest solo hit film of his career.
Uri - The Surgical Strike - Rs 245.36 cr
Vicky Kaushal had a career turnaround with war drama 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', one of the biggest hits of the year and the film which earned him his first National Award.
Bharat - Rs 211.07
Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif starrer period drama 'Bharat' directed by Ali Abbas Zafar made an entry into Rs. 200 cr club. Bharat is Salman Khan's sixth film to enter the Rs 200-crore club after Sultan, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo , and Tiger Zinda Hai.
Housefull 4 – Rs. 210 cr / Mission Mangal - Rs. 202.98 cr / Kesari - Rs 154.41 cr
2019 has been an incredible year for Akshay Kumar with three of his films making to the top grossers list, out of which two are part of Rs. 200 cr club. His fourth release this year 'Good Newwz' has hit the screens today. The comedy entertainer is also expected to be a 'hit' venture for Khiladi Kumar.
Total Dhamaal
The third installment of the comedy entertainer franchise Dhamaal starring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi and the iconic duo, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit Nene has turned out to be a huge money spinner than the other installments.
Sushanth Singh, Shraddha Kapoor starrer Chhichhore directed by Dangal fame Nitesh Tiwari, Hrithik Roshan's 'Super 30', a biopic based on mathematician Anand Kumar, Prabhas' multi-starrer 'Saaho', Ayushman Khurrana's 'Dream Girl' and 'Bala', Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy and last but not the least Ajay Devgn's 'De De Pyaar De' have made it to the list.
