Team Thalapathy 64 (tentative title) which is Vijay's 64th film is currently shooting at Shimoga, Karnataka and latest buzz is that the film's first look can be expected as the New Year's update. Though it has not been officially announced, it is believed that of not the first look, some or the other update of Vijay's film can be expected for the beginning of 2020. 

A Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, Thalapathy 64 has Vijay playing a college professor cum gangster and will see actors Vijay Sethupathi and Anthony Varghese in villainous roles. Nasser was recently revealed to play a senior professor in the film, which has Malavika Mohanan play female lead and Andreah in a grey role.

The team recently irked the Tobacco Monitor App for allegedly smoking inside the campus of a school for visually impaired students. Besides heavily coming down on the Department of Differently Abled Welfare who had permitted the crew to shoot inside the campus, the team behind the Tobacco Monitor App publicly condemned the act stating,

"The Section 4 of the COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act) states that, 'Smoking in public places is prohibited’..

 

Section 6 (b) states that the sale or usage of cigarettes or any other tobacco product is prohibited within 100 yards of any educational institution; be it school, college or even a tuition centre.

 

The movie crew has shown such a lethargic attitude by smoking inside the school where countless number of disabled children get educated."

Thalapathy 64 is produced by XB Film Creators and is headed for a Summer, 2020 release.
