While Vijay is currently busy with the shooting of Thalapathy 64 directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, speculations are rife that director Vetrimaaran is in talks with the 'Bigil actor for his next film. If sources are to be believed, Vetrimaran has narrated a script to Thalapathy and if all goes well the project may begin after Thalapathy 64. However an official confirmation is awaited on the same. Reportedly, Magizh Thirumeni of 'Thadam' fame has also narrated a script to Vijay.

The fourth schedule of Thalapathy 64 is currently underway in Shimoga, Karnataka. Vijay Sethupathy who reportedly essays the role of an antagonist is expected to join the sets soon to shoot for his portions with Vijay. The film which has music by Anirudh is slated for Summer 2020 release. The title and first look of the film is expected to be revealed on New Year.
