Tollywood superstar Nagarjuna is essaying the role of an archaeologist in Ayan Mukerji's upcoming epic fantasy film Brahmastra. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt play the lead roles. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in a pivotal role. Nagarjuna who was last seen in 2003 Hindi film LOC Kargil is returning to Bollywood after 16 years. The actor has already shared screen space with Big B in films like Agni Varsha and Khuda Gawah.
According to reports, Nagarjuna plays an archaeologist and has already shot for his portions in Varanasi in June. Nagarjuna’s character, along with his students, undertakes an expedition to restore an ancient temple along the banks of the Ganga.
The film is first in Ayan’s fantasy trilogy that aims to infuse ancient Indian mythology and science fiction. Ranbir, reportedly plays a man with special powers in Brahmastra, is named Shiva while Alia Bhatt’s name is Isha. Mouni Roy and Saurav Gurjar plays the antagonists in the film. Brahmastra is produced by Karan Johar, and is expected to release in mid-2020.
