Akshay Kumar recently launched the first look of his upcoming film titled Bell Bottom and even before the poster was unveiled, there was a strong buzz in Bollywood media that the film is a remake of this year's Kannada hit film Bell Bottom. Akshay has however cleared the air on his twitter page and said,

Hinting at the 80s era, the poster features Akshay Kumar posing in front of Chevrolet Impala and while sharing the poster, Akshay wrote, "Get ready to go back to the 80’s and hop onto a roller-coaster spy ride, #BELLBOTTOM! Releasing on 22nd January, 2021."

Interestingly, the Kannada Bell Bottom which starred Rishab Shetty in the lead was also set in the 80s and it old the story of a police constable who gets a chance at his dream job of becoming a detective. The film was directed by Jayathirtha and a Tamil, Telugu remake of the Kannada movie is already in the pipeline.

The Hindi Bell Bottom will be directed by Ranjit M Tewari and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani.
