Karthi’s Kaithi which hit the screens worldwide on October 25 released alongside Vijay’s Bigil. The film had a limited release due to most of the theatres opting to screens Bigil. The film received positive reviews from both audience and critics alike. The strong word of mouth has helped boost the film’s collection to a great extent and it has seen an exponential growth at the box office in its opening weekend.

Kaithi has witnessed an increase on its Day 2 and Day 3, thanks to word of mouth which has resulted in the increase of screens as well as shows. Due to limited release, the demand has been huge for the film, not only in TamilNadu but across the 5 south Indian states which has helped to get more screens. In Kerala, the exhibitors had charted out special shows for the film on Sunday. In the overseas market too, the same trend has been witnessed which has made the exhibitors to allot more shows / screens based on the demand. The increase in shows is a solid proof that good content always wins. The team who had been very confident about the film’s success from the very beginning have been overwhelmed by the raving response and surge of collections at the box office.
