As is known, Karthi starrer Kaithi is taking the big-gun Bigil at the Diwali box-office tomorrow in both Tamil and Telugu. Ahead of the movie hitting theater screens [which is considerably less in number than the Vijay starrer], we decided to take a quick look at what Kaithi has in store for its audience.

So here are some reasons to watch the movie or what to expect from it : 

• Offbeat-Cinema: The story-line of a life convict breaking from prison to meet his 10 year old daughter whom he hasn't seen since she was born, screams off-beat if anything. Coming from Lokesh Kanagaraj who gave the critically acclaimed Maanagaram and Dream Warrior Pictures which has Joker, Aruvi and Raatchasi to its credit, Kaithi with no songs or female lead is not your everyday cinema.

• Hollywood  Parallels: Besides comparing it to Kamal Haasan's Virumaandi, lead actor Karthi has said that Kaithi is an action film like the Hollywood flick Die Hard. He even went as far as saying that if not him, Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger could easily do his role.

• Technical Offering: Cinema is a visual medium at the end of the day and offering the audience a whole movie set in forests, the night and the dark tone is the amount of technical confidence Kaithi comes with. It shows (from the teaser and trailer) that a lot has been shouldered by cinematographer of the movie Sathyan.

• Interesting Characters: Besides the daughter, another female character is said to be pivotal in the movie which is something to look forward to in the film. After Anjathe, actor Narain is returning in an intense cop role with Kaithi.

With the promise of being new-age and giving its viewers an action-film with an emotional core, Kaithi/Khaidi comes with a run-time of roughly two and half hours. It is also the much needed box-office return for Karthi, whose previous outing Dev bombed earlier this year.
