Box Office: War creates 'history'! Hrithik Roshan's film emerges as the highest opening day grosser beating Thugs of Hindostan

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's War directed by Siddharth Anand hit the screens worldwide on October 2 has opened to mixed reviews. The film which released on a national holiday had a phenomenal advance booking due to its massive pre-release hype. War has emerged as the highest opening day grosser ever in the history of Hindi cinema, beating the record of Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan that collected Rs. 50.75 cr

 

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer creates history by raking in Rs. 51.60 cr on its opening day. The film which released in around 4000 screens managed to beat the collections of Thugs of Hindostan which hit the screens on Diwali last year releasing in 5000 screens.

The film now holds the record for the highest opening day collection for a Hindi film in India on a national holiday. Also the film marks the highest Day 1 grosser for Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and production house YRF which also crossed the milestone Rs. 50 crore mark on its opening day after Thugs of Hindostan.

 

Despite facing tough competition in the South from Megastar Chiranjeevi's magnum opus 'SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy', Hollywood film 'Joker' and release of new Bengali films it has managed to come out in 'flying colours' striking gold at the Box Office.
